A History Of Great Taste

Things have changed a lot in the last 87 years or so, but at Krystal, not so much. Even during the Great Depression, founders Rody Davenport Jr. and Glenn Sherrill believed that a good meal at a great price—served with a smile at a clean restaurant—would attract customers and keep them coming back. Krystal has proven them right ever since. Sure, we stick to the classics, but over the years, we’ve never been afraid to innovate, adding a breakfast menu, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, milkshakes (and more) to our enduring selection of delicious, iconic, little square burgers.

Today, as we expand into new markets with new restaurant designs and our unique and tasty menu items, we still deliver a one-of-a-kind taste and experience—one we like to think would make Rody and Glenn proud.

The average Net Sales figures and quartiles are based on unaudited financial information as submitted by Traditional franchisees that were open for at least 3 years as of December 27, 2020 and operated for the 51 weeks prior to December 27, 2020 as published in Item 19 of our October 11, 2021 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). As of December 27, 2020, there were 70 Traditional Krystal outlets in operation for three years or more that operated during the 2020 reporting period. The data is the reported average for the top performing quartile’s Net Sales generated during the 51 weeks preceding December 27, 2020. The top-performing quartile included 17 franchisees. Of these 17 franchisees in the top quartile and 70 franchisees in the Traditional reporting group, 5 franchisees exceeded the average Net Sales per unit reported by the top quartile. The average Net Sales for Traditional franchisees in the bottom performing quartile of this reporting group was $650,616. The bottom quartile included eighteen franchisees, and of these 18 franchisees, 9 franchisees in the bottom quartile exceeded this average, and a total of 61 franchisees in the Traditional franchisee reporting group exceeded the bottom quartile’s average Net Sales per unit. Some outlets have sold/earned this amount. Your individual results may differ. There is no assurance that you’ll sell/earn as much. Written substantiation for the financial performance representation will be made available to the prospective franchisee upon reasonable request. See Item 19 of our October 11, 2021 FDD for a definition of Net Sales, Traditional franchisees (i.e., outlets that are not located in non-traditional venues) and the 2020 reporting period, and for further information.
